Røros Tweed
Norwegian wool woven since 1940 in a UNESCO World Heritage town.
Philosophy
Norwegian wool blankets and textiles since 1940. Pure new wool, traditional patterns. UNESCO heritage town.
History
Røros Tweed was founded in 1940 in the mining town of Røros, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The company continues the textile tradition of the Hiort Foundation, which distributed wool blankets to locals in need. For over 80 years, each blanket has been woven from pure Norwegian new wool, with patterns inspired by the local arctic landscape. The brand collaborates with Scandinavian textile designers to create pieces that are both traditional and contemporary.
