Born from the mountains of New Zealand, Mons Royale was founded in 2009 by Hamish Acland, freeski professional, and Hannah, with a design background. Both founders grew up on highland farms, developing a natural affinity for merino wool and the New Zealand mountains from which the wool for their clothing comes. Hamish's skiing experience and Hannah's design background, combined with their family roots in farming, gave birth to the idea of a brand that's both fashionable and functional based on this ingenious functional material from nature. Mons Royale's mission: creating high-performance merino wool apparel for biking, snowboarding, skiing and trail running, shifting to natural performance materials to reduce impact on the planet.
