Fjällräven
Timeless Scandinavian outdoor design where functionality meets durability for over 60 years.
Philosophy
Founded in 1960 in Sweden, Fjällräven became a Scandinavian design icon with the Kånken (1978). Waxable G-1000 fabrics, strong environmental commitment, products designed to last decades.
History
It all began in 1950 when 14-year-old Åke Nordin made his first backpack using his mother's sewing machine, dissatisfied with the comfort of existing bags. Ten years later, in 1960, he officially created Fjällräven in Örnsköldsvik from his family garage. In 1964, the brand launched its first Trango tent, then revolutionized the market in 1978 with the iconic Kånken bag, designed to alleviate back problems among Swedish schoolchildren. Today led by Martin Nordin, the founder's son, Fjällräven is part of the Fenix Outdoor group.
